1872 Earliest Record of the Fakenham & Dereham Archery Club in the diary of Rev. BJ Armstrong, vicar of East Dereham
28th April 1894 Earliest primary records of the FADAC – AGM
8th Sept 1896 Mr J Rogers shoots a Club Record Long Western of 71-309-6
10th Aug 1897 Mrs Hales shoots a Club Record Western of 90-494-10
8th May 1900 First shoot of the century, Quebec House, Dereham.
1903 Lawn Tennis no longer provided at club archery meetings
1908-09 The Indian Maharajah, His Highness Prince Frederick Duleep Singh elected Club President
17th May 1910 First meeting of the year cancelled due to death of King Edward VII
1913 Mrs Hales wins her record 14th Club Championships
1914 39 ordinary & 1 honorary members
15th Sept 1914 Meeting abandoned because of the First World war
9th June 1920 First meeting since the war, held at Thurning Hall
1922 Targets now transported between country houses by motor vehicles not train or horse and cart
1925 Death of Miss Florence Norgate, club member for over 50 years
1931 Last year that club meetings were held at members’ homes
1932 Mr Norris wins his record 9th Club Championship
1934 13 members
24th July 1939 Miss Jagg shoots a club record American of 307
5th May 1947 Club meets for the first time after the second world war at Holt
1952 7 members
1956 FADAC last recorded shoot, at Blakeney
10th March 1976 Fakenham Bowmen inaugural Meeting, Fakenham Sports Centre
1977 12 members including some from RAF Sculthorpe
1982 Fakenham Press closes and the club closes with it
June 1985 Fakenham Bowmen re-starts with 6 members
1988 First Mayday Shoot held. Club now has 31 members
Nov 1989 Minute Books & Accounts of Fakenham & Dereham Archery Club found
1994 Fakenham Bowmen ‘Centenary Plus’ Archery Weekend
1995 Elaine Burbidge awarded Honorary Life membership
1996 Induction course first run with a structured syllabus
First May Longbow Meeting held
Aug 1997 Mandy Gaskin shoots a Club Record 1261 FITA and ranks 4th in the country
1998 Club has 18 members; First newsletters published

Club website launched

1st Jan 2000 First shoot of the century, Fakenham Sports Centre
Sept 2000 Jane White represents Great Britain at the Sydney Paralympics, winning a Team Bronze
2001 National Lottery ‘Awards for All’ grant allows building of club Pavilion
2002 Fakenham Junior Bowmen established within Club
2003 First Club Handbook published
2004 Club accredited under the Norfolk Area Child Protection SAFE Scheme
2005 Membership passes 70 for the first time!
First Record Status Warwick Tournament held
2007 Club Colours registered with Archery GB
Autumn 2007 Jamie Fisher invited to join National Junior squad
30th Nov 2007 First Indoor Tournament held
April 2008 Awarded £9,250 Awards for All lottery funding to support move into new sports centre
2008/09 First season in Fakenham Sports and Fitness Centre
July 2011 Two Fakenham juniors become national champions – Jamie Fisher (gents) and Steph Jackson (ladies under 18)
Sept 2011 Awarded £6,109 Sport England Funding to improve our beginners’ equipment, provide coaching for members and netting in the sports hall
