FIELD CAPTAINS QUICK CHECKLIST 

ON ARRIVAL
open up pavilion and sheds 
agree who is going to be field captain for this shoot


BEFORE STARTING SHOOTING EACH END
check boundaries of field for passers by esp dog walkers and golfers
check behind waiting line for approaching visitors and active golfers
check that everyone (archers, viewers etc) is outside the shooting area
   and that all archers are BEHIND the shooting line not straddling it
   and everyone else is behind the waiting line or outside the side safety lines
make sure noone has an arrow nocked in their bow until they are at the shooting line
signal 'start shooting' ie call out or blow one clear blast on whistle

WHILE SHOOTING
keep visually checking that children, beginners, and any vulnerable adults seem ok
keep checking that all shooting archers, especially children and adult beginners,
   keep ONE foot behind the line 
   and that noone steps over the line to retrieve a dropped arrow
keep checking boundaries of field for passers by esp dog walkers and golfers
if any of the above happens or if any other potential risks appear
   SHOUT "FAST" to stop all shooting
   if not everyone stops immediately BLOW WHISTLE - ONE VERY LONG LOUD BLAST 

AT THE END OF SHOOTING AN END
check that everyone has returned to BEHIND the shooting line
   and that noone has an arrow nocked in their bow
then signal 'collect arrows' ie call out or blow 3 short blasts on whistle

IF YOU WANT TO STOP FIELD CAPTAINING/GO TO LOO etc
agree with another field captain that they will take over
   shooting must not continue if the field captain is off the field

AT THE END OF SHOOTING
it's your responsibility to make sure all targets and equipment are put away
lock up
